Class of 2010

Kofi Mensa

Turning many heads has been 6’4 guard Kofi Mensa.  This very athletic junior-to-be guard attending Mountain State Academy has had big games against famed schools Oak Hill and the Patterson School and has caught the attention of many schools (Ole Miss, Marshall, West Virginia, Wake Forest, Boston U., Baylor, Akron, St. Bonventure, Cornel, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Oakland, Nebraska and Saint Joseph’s).

Mensa attended the All-Canada Basketball Camp where he was named a top 20 athlete.  Playing in the 16U division with the talent filled CIA Bounce Canada team; his athleticism and natural scoring ability were evident throughout this year making him very desirable to coaches recruiting for the class of 2010.

Melvin Ejim

Arguably one of the most underrated forwards for the 2010 class is Melvin Ejim.  At an athletic 6’6 and playing the wing with his talent laden AAU club (CIA Bounce Canada), his ability to play and cover multiple positions, run/finish on the break and knock down shots with great range demonstrates the amount of potential he has as he’s receiving interest from several schools (Xavier, Baylor, Wake Forest, New Mexico, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Oakland, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Cornel, St. Bonaventure, Tulsa and Maryland).  An All-Canada Basketball Camp top 20 selection and former Provincial Team member in 2007, Ejim demonstrates an excellent work ethic, commitment and drive that is motivating.

Transferring from St. Mary’s Ryken (DC) to attend Brewster Academy this fall for his junior season will add great depth and versatility to this nationally ranked squad.

Stephen Alli - Committed to The Florida Gators

CIA Bounce Canada forward Stephen Alli is the definition of a freak athlete.  This 6’8, 2010 product is a machine in the paint blocking shots, rebounding, and dunking.  Having played football as a wideout and a track & field star, Alli runs the floor very well and dunks in traffic with regularity. Stephen is even gaining interest from many D1 Football schools including Boston College and Florida. Possessing loads of speed, with Olympic qualifying times Stephen also has a good mid-range game and an improving post-up game, Stephen causes fits for many defenders.

A top 20 selection of the All-Canada Basketball Camp, his athleticism and potential has become attractive to many as he will attend Proctor Academy this fall with some schools (Kentucky, St. Bonaventure, Baylor, Cornel, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Oakland and New Mexico) tracking his progress.

Taevaunn Prince

2010 grad Taevaunn Prince is as versatile a guard as they come.  With the ability to post up inside, creatively handle the ball and penetrate from out on the perimeter; his craftiness and skill level is reminiscent of ex-Kentucky star Antoine Walker and Marquette-committed Junior Cadougan.  Recognized at the 2008 All-Canada Basketball Camp as one of the assist leaders and a top 20 selection, combined with a busy summer with his AAU club (CIA Bounce Canada), Prince has been attracting attention from a number of schools (Wisconsin-Green Bay, Baylor, Virginia Tech and St. Bonaventure).

Possessing a strong body with great footwork at 6’3, Prince is a slippery guard who is fearless against contact at the basket with ability to finish and create for others.  With a solid perimeter game and now playing at Proctor Academy after transferring from St. Mary’s Ryken (DC), Prince is someone to watch out for in the class of 2010 as he will play with AAU teammates Stephen Alli, Pat Donnelly and Rohan (RJ) Stephens.

Jabbs Newby

Great pg playing out of Mountain State in West Virginia, this pg distributes the ball very well is athletic and a great feel for the game. Offers from Nebraska, St Boneventure, Eastern Kentucky, St Joes, interest from Sienna and many others.

Kadeem Green

Class of 2011

Grandy Glaze

Making a statement this year was All-Canada Basketball Camp (ACBC) MVP, Grandy Glaze.  Averaging a double-double in points and rebounds in the camp, this soon-to-be sophomore has generated a lot of interest (Georgetown, Temple, Baylor, UNLV, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Florida, Akron, Minnesota and UCLA)  he was also ranked the 2nd best player in the Fab Frosh All American Camp in June 2007, MVP at the UNLV Elite Camp, recognized as one of the top forwards for 2011 by ESPN.com and HoopScoop as a freshmen while attending St. John’s Catholic Prep in Frederick, Maryland this past season.  Grandy Glaze is a high major player with great endurance and athletic ability. Add to the fact that he wasn’t the only member from his AAU club, CIA Bounce Canada to be highly regarded in the ACBC.  2010 grads Kofi Mensa, Jabbs Newby, Melvin Ejim, Taevaunn Prince and Stephen Alli were all ranked in the top 20.

A very strong and quick forward at 6’6, Glaze was fearless against contact at the basket with great finishing ability.  His energy and determination to compete is contagious to all of his teammates.  With a developing perimeter game, Glaze is someone to watch out for in the class of 2011.

Kevin Thomas

Like fellow CIA Bounce Canada and St. John’s Catholic Prep teammates Grandy Glaze and Matej Delinac, 2011 grad Kevin Thomas has had a very busy year.  A versatile 6’8 forward, Kevin possesses a variety of skills with rebounding as his biggest strength which was evident in his domination of the UNLV Elite Basketball Camp this summer.  He also can put the ball on the floor, shoot with range, a variety of post up moves and defend the paint with pride.  His versatility has attracted interest from many schools (UNLV, Georgia, Baylor, West Virginia, Florida, UCLA, St. Bonaventure and Virginia).

He was a top 20 selection of the Fab Frosh All American Camp last summer, top 20 selection of the All-Canada Basketball Camp this summer and a highly ranked forward of the 2011 class by HoopScoop and ESPN.com.

Matej Delinac

6’2 guard Matej Delinac is what you call the microwave.  This 2011 product and teammate of Grandy Glaze and Kevin Thomas with their AAU Club (CIA Bounce Canada) and school (St. John’s Catholic Prep) is a scoring machine.  He can fill it up anytime with his ability to get inside the lane and finish or shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor with regularity.

As an All-area Frederick Post Honorable Mention Team selection as a freshman this past season and the 2nd best shooting guard at the Fab Frosh All American camp last summer, Delinac has generated lots of interest from some schools (Georgia, Tennessee, St. Bonaventure, Baylor and UMass).

Richard Peters- Committed to Oklahoma

Anthony Bennett - Major D 1 prospect - interest from high major D 1 schools, freak athlete whom jumps out of the gym.

Negus Webster-

Jonathon Alexander-

Jermaine Myers

If you’re looking for a crafty point guard who is immune to turnovers and possesses a solid perimeter game, then look no further than 6’0 2012 prospect Jermaine Myers.  Rated one of the top point guards of the 2012 class by HoopScoop, Myers has a great feel for the game and a good basketball IQ which has already been seen by a few schools (UNLV, Baylor and Purdue).

Expectations will be high as he will be entering his freshman year at Culver (IN) and playing up with his AAU club (CIA Bounce Canada) teammate and fellow Canadian, 2011 grad Wells Davis.

Juwan Brescacin

Considered to be one of the top players in the class of 2012, this 6’5 200lbs guard dominates both inside and outside. With an outstanding jump shot Juwan is able to hit consistently or take it strong to the basket, while encouraging contact. Juwan is a match up problem with an outstanding back to the basket game. Averaging 30 points per game with his AAU team (CIA Bounce Canada) through the 2008 AAU season Juwan has been seen by several D1 schools including Indiana Baylor, West Virginia, Long Beach State, Virgina Tech. Scoring is not an issue,  Brescacin gets to the basket as seen by consistent scores in the 30’s including a high of 47. Juwans father Justin was a basketball star in Ontario Canada as well spent time in Ohio, USA. Juwans athletic ability includes playing football as a starting QB and starting on the defensive line. Juwan’s outstanding body will allow for physical play at the next level and he will definitely be a high major player to watch in the class of 2012.

Juwan will be attending Culver in Indiana in Sept 2009

Nazareth Long

Long is an athletic, energetic 6’2 guard that sees the floor very well. In the class of 2012 Long played along side fellow AAU teammates Juwan Brescacin, Jermaine Myers and Faith Joseph. Nazareth comes from an extremely athletic family background, including his father who was a professional boxer. Nazareth Long attacks the basket fearlessly and scores with ease. Nazareths AAU season was great averaging 20ppg with AAU team (CIA Bounce Canada). A great team player Nazareth brings leadership and enthusiasm for the game.
